 5.) Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib

The famous Chandni Chowk area is home to the famous Gurudwara sis Ganj Sahib. The gurdwara was built by Baghel Singh in 1783 who was the then Military General in Punjab Cantonment. The Gurudwara was built as a martyrdom site for the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur who was killed on the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

The place is a devotional site for the Sikh community. Notably, the Sikh Regiment of the Indian army salutes at the Sis Ganj Sahib before saluting the Indian President. The history of this Gurudwara has been controversial during British rule. However, the British favoured the Sikh community and allowed the Sikhs to rebuild it again.

A simple black marble stone is at the centre which is the exact place where the body of Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. This gives this place more meaning & depth.
